Experienced Project Accountant- Catonsville, MD

About the Company and Experienced Project Accountant Opportunity:

• CFS is partnering with a top client in engineering to hire an additional Experienced Project Accountant to join their team and work from their Catonsville, MD office. They are looking to have this employee start on a contractual basis and become permanent fairly quickly if they are the right fit.
• Company has been described as relaxed, flexible, and having a family feel. This person will work with a very supportive, tight knit team
• This position will begin within a week of an offer and can become permanent for the right candidate
• 100% on site in Catonsville, MD. This position will not be remote. After training, they are open to a hybrid schedule
• Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30-4:30PM or 8:30-5:30pm with a one hour lunch. Can be flexible if needed!
• Salary $65,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

Job Duties for the Experienced Project Accountant:

• Responsible for preparing and processing billing, accounts receivable and general ledger entries
• Assist in handling collections
• Prepare accounts receivables activities including preparing contract billings, submitting invoices to client vendor pay systems
• Perform financial analysis and bank reconciliations
• Produce routine management reports and other reports as requested
• Periodically prepare regulatory reports with local and federal governments
• Contract administration
• Divisional financial reporting
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and closing activities
• Process cash receipts

Ideal Candidate for the Experienced Project Accountant:

• Must be very competent with billing, collections, and cash receipts
• Detail oriented, self motivated, and excellent communication skills
• Possesses multitasking abilities, excellent problem solving and decision making skills and is able to work in a fast paced environment
• Analytical mindset and time management abilities
• Has a positive attitude and is willing to take on any challenge
• Must enjoy working with a variety of personalities

Qualifications for the Experienced Project Accountant:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or related or pursuing degree highly preferred
• 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally in billing, cash receipts, and collections
• Intermediate Excel knowledge is required. Knowledge of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas is a plus!
• Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint is a plus, but not required
• Experience in the engineering, construction, or professional service industry highly preferred!
