Role Responsibilities
The Director of Technical Accounting and Reporting will report to the CAO and take a hands-on approach to managing the company's financial reporting processes. Key duties include:
- Leading all aspects of financial reporting, including reviewing financial results, quarter-end workpapers, 10K and 10Q filings, supporting schedules, and earnings releases.
- Overseeing and maintaining compliance with SOX requirements.
- Researching, documenting, and implementing significant technical accounting standards.
- Managing reviews of purchase price allocations, quarterly performance stock unit valuations, warrant valuations, and hypothetical liquidation book value calculations.
- Conducting E.P.S. calculations and quarterly assessments for impairment indicators.
- Enhancing documentation for internal controls over financial reporting.
- Coordinating with internal and external auditors to ensure accurate and efficient reporting processes.
- Mentoring and supervising staff as needed.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA license (Master's degree preferred but not required).
- 7+ years of experience, either:
- At a Big 4 or national CPA firm working with public clients (ideally in the real estate industry).
- A combination of public accounting and in-house experience.
- Expertise in SEC reporting and SOX compliance, gained either through public accounting or industry roles.
- Prior experience with REITs is highly desirable.
