Crane Shop Service Technician 2 at Holt Texas

The Crane Shop Service Technician is responsible for performing safe, professional, high-quality, and timely inspections, diagnosis, repair, loading/unloading, make-ready, and maneuvering of cranes and related equipment primarily in a shop environment. Work will be performed alone or in teams to provide high-quality mechanical services that meet customers’ needs and achieve organizational and departmental objectives.

Essential Functions:

• Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.

• Responds to customers’ needs in a professional and urgent manner, satisfying their requirements and meeting organizational and departmental objectives.

• Inspects and diagnoses cranes and related equipment technical problems in a professional, accurate, efficient, and timely manner to satisfy customers’

• Prepares cranes and related equipment for service work utilizing proper safety procedures (locks, blocking, lock-out procedures, etc.) to avoid injury.

• Removes and replaces crane and related equipment components utilizing required technical data and procedures to repair equipment to organization and industry standards.

• Maintains technical proficiency through self-study and/or successful completion of required training courses to increase job related competencies.

• Maintain and control company property and resources in a manner to ensure safety, cleanliness, reliability, and minimal expense.

• Requires regular and punctual employee attendance

• Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Education and Experience:

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue

• Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

• Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina

• Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment

• Be able to maneuver safely and work underneath equipment

• Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work

Work Environment:

• Regularly works outdoor and indoor around moving mechanical parts

• May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and full sun.

• Noise level may be loud at times, and proper PPE will be required such as in ear, ear plugs or over the ear protection

• Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment

• Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment

• Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places
