Crane Operator - Barge - Gator Dredging

Gator Dredging is looking for a safe, dependable and hardworking Crane Operator. This is a great opportunity to join the Gator Dredging team to perform specialized work. The Crane Operator Position Requires a valid NCCCO Crane Certification, Lattice Boom (both friction and hydraulic)

Responsibilities For the Crane Operator:

• Safely operate lattice boom and telescopic boom cranes in marine conditions (Off of a barge).
• Safely operate crane and install pilings.
• Operate a variety of heavy, specialized lifting equipment to lift and transport large and heavy loads such as equipment or construction materials.
• Cleans, maintains, and lubricates equipment. Properly inspect the equipment before use and notify the maintenance manager of any issues found.
• Must be able to load equipment and materials without damaging any property or personnel.
• Communicating with site Foreman, PM, or Superintendent.
• Complying with all safety rules, regulations, and permit conditions.
• Assist in Mobilizations/Demobilizations of project sites.
• Must be motivated and able to work independently and as a team.
• Maintain time and production records, detailed and accurate timesheets with verified quantities including detailed locations of work performed.
• Must be able to work outside for entire shift in all weather conditions (hot, humid, cold, wet) required.

Qualifications / Requirements For the Crane Operator:

• A valid NCCCO Crane Certification, Lattice Boom (both friction and hydraulic)
• A Minimum of 3 years' experience operating cranes.
• Previous experience installing pilings a plus
• Must show up on time.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the construction site
• Highschool diploma or GED.
• Working knowledge of construction site safety and road safety regulations.
• Must be able to travel.
• Marine Construction experience a plus.
• OSHA Certifications a plus.

Physical Demands/Work Environment of The Laborer / Site Help:

• Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use sit, use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will reach with hands; Occasionally will stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell.
• Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds; Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 50 pounds.
