Qualifications:
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time, paid workexperience equivalent to that gained as a Water/Wastewater Operator
Certificate: Possession of a valid Grade III or higherWastewater Treatment Plant Operator certificate issued by the State ofCalifornia, State Water Resources Control Board
License: Possession of a valid Class C driver\'slicense, or equivalent

Responsibilities:
Operates and monitors Supervisory Control and DataAcquisition (SCADA) systems; revises equipment settings as appropriate; notifiessupervisor of unusual situations and makes inspections or corrects systemproblems as necessary
Monitors plant operations equipment and processes toensure compliance with environmental and public health standards, includingmonitoring and making adjustments as needed to optimize efficiency, makingchemical dosage changes, changing pumping rates, and monitoring all equipmentdaily
Reads, records, and calculates readings of meters andgauges; interprets information into operational characteristics; makes processadjustments according to information gathered, samples collected, readings, andrecords
Makes visual inspections of plant operations and ensurethat operational problems have been located and corrected
Inspects, cleans, and maintains pumps, motors, valves,filters, meters, and related equipment
Performs required preventive maintenance and repairs
Collects a variety of samples for laboratory tests andperforms basic laboratory tests and analyses
Operates valves, pumps, and automated controls to regulatethe flow of wastewater through the system
Operates and maintains a variety of hand and power toolsand equipment related to work assignment as instructed
Performs a variety of general and ground maintenanceactivities around plant facilities
Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly condition,including securing equipment at the close of the workday
Responds to complaints and answers questions from publicor escalates to supervisor, as necessary
Accepts deliveries and handles other known hazardous chemicals
Responds to operations, maintenance, and repair emergencysituations as required; ensures power to plant facilities during emergencypower conditions
Maintains records and logs of daily activities; preparesreports as necessary
Observes safe work methods and makes appropriate use ofrelated safety equipment as required
Monitors cogeneration facility
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
As a Lead Wastewater Operator, youll join acollaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services uninterrupted. Based in Clovis, CA, youll perform a variety of tasks in theoperation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant. Youll contribute tothe success of our program diagnosing operating problems, directing andperforming necessary corrective action, and providing effective solutions tocomplex challenges that may arise. Youll read gauges and meters, starts andstops equipment, and operate valves to route and control flow, make processcontrol adjustments, determine and set proper chemical dosage and flow rates,and operate PLCs and SCADA systems. Youll also prepare reports, maintaincomplete record keeping procedures, conduct meetings and training sessionspertaining to safety and process control, and perform other duties as required.Most importantly, youlltake actionto ensure the safety, health andwell-being of you and your team.

Heres what youll need:
California State Water Resources Control Board Grade III,IV or V
3 years of experience operating a wastewater treatmentfacility
Experience with sound safety principles and practices
Experience with computer operations with the ability toprepare spreadsheets and word processing documents, and enter information intomaintenance management system
Valid drivers license with no major infractions
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools employedin the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors, and relatedequipment; general maintenance work; safe work practices; principles andmethods of biological an chemical analyses, effects and problems of drinkingwater treatment processes, principles of supervision
Knowledge of computer software including but not limitedto Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems and be able tooperate plant PLCs and SCADA systems

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target fornew hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range,individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, includingjob-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
