POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the Parts Delivery Dispatcher – Inventory Control position dispatches delivery drivers to customer base efficiently while focusing on safety. The Parts Delivery Dispatcher – Inventory Control position maintains knowledge of all routes for on demand deliveries and scheduled departure times for shuttle drivers. The Parts Delivery Dispatcher – Inventory Control position receives and checks incoming product and stock orders, stocks or re-stocks shelves with product received, performs inventory control functions as directed by manager,
and assists in maintaining a clean and orderly working environment both in store and in warehouse.
Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Schedules and dispatches Driver/Warehouse employees.
- Ensures customer returns are being written up by drivers daily.
- Maintains awareness of traffic congestion.
- Pulls invoices from printer to fill orders and prepare for delivery.
- When necessary, uses company vehicle to deliver parts and equipment to customers in a courteous manner.
- Maintains knowledge of all delivery driver duties, including defensive driving skills.
- Assists Store Manager in maintaining clean and safe functioning delivery vehicles.
- Ensures warehouse is kept clean and in an orderly state.
- Assists Store Manager with providing Delivery Driver training to new employees.
- Observes company work and safety rules in the performance of all duties.
- Participates in safety meetings.
- Assists Store Manager in staying current with the cycle count inventory schedule.
- Attends store meetings scheduled by management.
- Participates in available training as it becomes available.
- Becomes 100% knowledgeable in the use of the Zebra scanning tool.
- Takes full responsibility of receiving incoming freight and submitting variances.
- Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Must be forklift certified or able to be certified within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to work in a team environment and a positive attitude required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, required.
- A valid Drivers’ License with a good driving record required.
- Must own a cell phone. If eligible, reimbursement will be made according to our Bring Your Own Device program.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Walking: Moves about on foot often up and down stairs.
- Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.
- Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous paperwork and equipment parts.
- Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
- Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
- Vision: Reads paperwork and records on the computer.
- Talking: Communicates by phone and in person.
- Lifting: Up to 60 lbs. daily, frequent exertion.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
- Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
- Temp/Weather: Works in a warehouse environment.
