What we are looking for:
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead municipal solid waste, industrial, and construction/demolition landfill projects. This role requires expertise in regulatory compliance, independent judgment, and minimal oversight from senior management. The position includes office and fieldwork (at least 10% fieldwork) and serves as the Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Manager for the Texas Business Unit, responsible for hiring, managing, and supervising field CQA staff. The role involves oversight of liner, final cover, and gas system installations, business development, and P&L responsibility for the Texas CQA group, while driving growth and leadership of the CQA program. This position can be remote in the Houston area.
How you can make an impact:- Manage, supervise, and schedule field CQA staff.
- Perform field and office CQA duties.
- Manage CQA projects and oversee SCS and client subcontractors.
- Assist RSO’s to maintain, test, troubleshoot, and organize field equipment.
- Prepare and review liner evaluation reports.
- Review daily field logs, reporting data collected, field observations, and recommended actions.
- Review field data for soils and geosynthetics testing.
- Ensure field CQA staff have project drawings, specifications, and testing requirements.
- Follow site-specific SOPs and stay current on health & safety training.
- Work overtime and travel as required.
- Bachelor’s degree or vocational certificate in construction management, engineering, or related education preferred
- 15 years of relevant experience in landfill construction CQA services
- Completion of (or willingness to complete) 40-hour HAZWOPER training
- Completion of Nuclear Density Gauge training
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Knowledge of geosynthetics, soils, permits, drawings, technical specifications, and CQA plans
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to read blueprints, use hand tools, and maintain detailed field notes
- Flexibility to work overtime and in various weather conditions
