SUMMARY
Under the direction of the coding manager and revenue cycle management team, performs various duties to accurately interpret documentation and ensure correct CPT, ICD10 and HCPCS codes are billed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Accounts Receivable
- Working directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, to ensure correct coding initiatives are followed
- Review of documentation per request of billing staff to resolve coding denials
2. Coding
- Ability to review medical charts and code charges accurately, communicate with provider for clarification of codes billed vs documentation
- Follow company initiatives to bill codes to the highest level of specificity
3. Productivity
- Submission of at least 100 claims per day
- Report missing slips to practice manager at least 2 times per week
4. Policies
- Work within guidance of Billing Compliance Plan
- Work within Local, State and Federal Billing Guidelines
- Work within the contracted Payer Contracted Guidelines
- Work within the Work from Home guidelines if applicable
5.Maintain and follow strict privacy, confidentiality, and safety protocols. Comply with all government regulations around the following:
- HIPAA
- OSHA
- PCI DSS
6.Other Administrative Duties - Maintain a clean and organized work environment
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
- Strong computer skills required
- 5 years healthcare experience
- 2+ years coding/billing experience
- CPC Certification
Preferred Education/Experience
- Some college medical, business, accounting focus
- Bilingual
- EMR experience preferred Athenahealth practice management system
- Certified coder, and/or 5 years experience billing, coding, or high level of insurance knowledge

Salary: $26 - $31 / hour
