Competitive Pay: $20.00 - $24.54 an hour, depending on experience.
Position Overview
The Counter Sales/Warehouse Associate is responsible for handling counter sales, providing product expertise and technical support to customers, including MSDS sheets and hazard information. They assist with customer orders via phone, email, or in person, resolve complaints, process credits, billing, and quotes. Warehouse duties include receiving and stocking inventory, shipping products, organizing the warehouse, conducting cycle counts, maintaining the warehouse, and performing vehicle maintenance. The associate will also operate a forklift, move stock, write and receive invoices to fulfill customer orders, and handle hazardous spills safely. Forklift certification and proper lifting techniques are required.

Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with counter sales and provide product expertise, answering customer questions regarding product features, pricing, and availability.
- Process sales orders via phone, email, or in person, and mix or tint paint as needed.
- Handle customer complaints or issues professionally, escalating unresolved grievances to management.
- Maintain warehouse inventory, ensuring proper stock rotation and organization, and assist with warehouse duties, including receiving freight and shipping.
- Perform inventory cycle counts and support warehouse organization, including moving stock and operating a forklift.
- Write and receive invoices to fulfill customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Promote a safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols, handling hazardous spills, and maintaining equipment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, with experience in an automotive paint store and customer service a plus. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to handle customer interactions professionally and maintain confidentiality. A good command of written and spoken English is required, and candidates must align with the company's mission. Physical stamina is needed for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and performing repetitive tasks. The role also involves handling hazardous materials safely and processing orders with precision. A business-like demeanor, sound decision-making, and ownership of tasks are key to success. Warehouse experience and a focus on service excellence are highly valued.
