Counter Help/Cashier at Small Town Craft Bakery - Natabelle's

Our bakery is renowned for its world-famous sweet potato brownies and a delightful selection of other delectable baked goods. Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome customers with a genuine and cheerful demeanor as they enter the bakery.
• Provide detailed information about our bakery products, including ingredients, flavors, and special offerings.
• Assist customers in making selections based on their preferences and offer recommendations when necessary.
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system.
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and give accurate change to customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized counter area, ensuring that all baked goods are displayed attractively and in line with our bakery's aesthetic.
• Package and bag items for customers, ensuring they are presented in a visually appealing manner.
• Keep track of inventory levels for baked goods and inform the management team when items are running low.
• Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and courteous manner.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth flow of operations, from taking orders to delivering products.
• Assist in the preparation of baked goods, such as slicing cakes, topping our world famous deserts, and arranging displays, as needed.
• Contribute to maintaining the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the bakery, including cleaning surfaces, sweeping, and organizing supplies.

Qualifications:

• Strong passion for providing excellent customer service and creating positive interactions with customers.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of customers.
• Attention to detail, ensuring accurate cash handling and order processing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and calculating change.
• Enthusiasm for baked goods and a willingness to learn about our products to assist customers effectively.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Previous experience in customer service, retail, or food service is a plus, but not required.

Currently the need is for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  As our hours increase and for special orders, additional days may be added.
