As a Counter Attendant, you get to greet Guests as they enter the cafeteria and make them feel welcome. You get to serve great, made from scratch food, and provide efficient and friendly service while helping Guests make decisions and choices about their order. You are also responsible for keeping the food hot and fresh and maintaining all products on the counter.

Counter Attendant Responsibilities:
- Greeting customers as they arrive and making them feel welcome.
- Directing customers to their seats and the restroom, answering questions about the menu, and making note of special requests, if required.
- Serving food to diners from a counter or, if seated, taking their orders.
- Communicating food and drink orders to the kitchen staff.
- Assembling and packaging takeaway orders.
- Maintaining cleanliness standards by keeping the counters, tableware, and utensils clean.
- Replenishing food supplies when required.
- Presenting customers with the bill and processing payments.
- Complying with company policies.
Counter Attendant Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must have good organizational skills
- Open to varied work schedules and hours depending on the restaurant’s needs
- Must be able to use to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand for several hours and walk for long periods of time
- Must be a team player
- Must possess excellent customer service skills

Bob Luby opened his first restaurant in 1947 in San Antonio. His goal was to serve good, fresh food in a setting people would want to come back to time and time again. A place that felt like home.
