About the Job
Evernorth seeks an experienced healthcare attorney to join the legal team supporting its sophisticated specialty and home delivery pharmacies, as well as various affiliates. In particular, the successful candidate would be responsible for providing legal advice on a variety of topics, including pharmacy relationships with payers such as health plans and pharmacy benefit managers, as well as relationships with 340B covered entities. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide legal support regarding various pharmacy regulatory matters in a dynamic environment. This position requires a general working knowledge of common regulatory structures and experience with health care fraud and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark Law. Contract negotiation experience with a track record of moving deals forward will be highly valued.
Essential Functions:
+ Analyze and support arrangements between pharmacies and a wide range of payers, including drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts
+ Analyze and support arrangements with 340B covered entities, including drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts
+ Provide day-to-day legal counseling on regulatory, operational and transactional matters involving our pharmacies
+ Work cross-functionally in analyzing complex transactions and to identify legal issues impacting the organization
+ Support strategic initiatives and development of new programs and products
+ Provide support to other legal team members as needed to manage complex legal matters
Qualifications :
+ J.D. from ABA accredited law school/Bar membership required
+ At least 4 years health care transactional or regulatory experience
+ Experience in fraud, waste, and abuse laws, particularly the Anti-Kickback Statute is needed.
+ Experience with pharmacy contracting, pharmacy practice, licensure regulations and other regulatory matters is a plus
+ Experience with the 340B Program, including experience supporting pharmacies, covered entities and/or 340B third party administrators, is a plus
+ Demonstrated ability to make prudent, strategic and pragmatic decisions while working well with others in a diverse team environment to resolve complex issues
+ Highly collaborative and analytical; excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to distill complex regulatory issues into practical, actionable legal advice in a timely manner
+ Ability to professionally handle and prioritize multiple contracts and projects in a thoughtful manner with advanced time management skills
+ Strong ability to maneuver through regulatory and business barriers to facilitate solutions
+ Understands the importance of supporting business leaders to enable sustainable growth.
+ We are open to a remote candidate but if near an office this role would be Hybrid.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 132,700 - 221,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
