Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for Hand Therapy
Calling local certified occupational therapy assistants (COTA) looking for per diem hours! Check out Select Physical Therapy in Kissimmee, FL! We are seeking per diem Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants with one year of experience in hands preferred or new OTA graduate with fieldwork hand experience. Opportunity to work with a OT/CHT. Center is open 8-7 M-F, hours will vary based on center needs. Opportunity to pick up more hours if willing to cover other centers when needed (within 30 minute drive).
COTA will treat various upper extremity disorders ranging from tendon injuries, sprains-strains, post- operative fractures, etc. Our population is primarily orthopedic injuries with referrals from hand and orthopedic surgeons.
Hours Needed: As Needed Mon - Fri
Compensation: Starting at $26+/hr. Hourly rate calculated by experience.
Responsibilities:- Under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist, optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients.
- Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
- Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services.
- Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals
- Ensure proper documentation of patient care.
- Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/ procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies
- Must be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program
- National registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIRED
- Must have previous experience working with hand therapy patients
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Valid state driver’s license
