Job Description: Cost Segregation Engineer
Position Overview: We are seeking an entry level or 2 to 3 year experienced Cost Segregation Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves detailed analysis and fieldwork to conduct cost segregation studies, requiring travel to client sites approximately 60% of the time. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering, construction, or related fields and possess the analytical skills to break down building components for tax purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site inspections and gather data to identify assets that qualify for accelerated depreciation.
Perform in-depth analysis of architectural plans, construction documents, and blueprints.
Prepare detailed cost segregation reports, including asset classification and tax documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tax professionals and clients, to ensure accurate and compliant reporting.
Stay updated with current IRS guidelines and tax laws related to cost segregation.
Provide guidance and answer technical questions for both internal teams and clients.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 years of experience in cost segregation, construction, or related areas.
Strong knowledge of building systems, construction processes, and IRS regulations pertaining to cost segregation.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Ability to travel up to 60% of the time, with occasional overnight stays.
