About the Job
Overview:
Cost/Project Engineer for Community Asphalt Corporation to report to our Miami, FL HQ loc. but working at multiple unanticipated locations in USA.
Responsibilities:- Perform all aspects of cost control incl: assess + review subcontract invoices, control + assign costs onsite, assist w/ prep of budgets + reports according to corp policy.
- Monitor cost, prep cost reports, forecasts + budgets according to corp + project policy. Coordinate + communicate w/ project team, + liaison w/ departments to maximize efficiencies + effectiveness for overall project business operations. Coordinate between Business Operations + Project Controls. Provide functional advice + support to managers for development, implementation + maintenance of field job cost processes.
- Train/review project procedures + processes during job start up cycle to ensure projects run efficiently.
- Provide job cost system tech support + training for employees. Review/approve budget + contract change orders prior to entry into cost system to ensure accuracy.
- Audit project quantities.
- Manage job cost accounting functions.
- Prep + present monthly financial reports to upper management concerning costs + forecasts.
- Little domestic travel may be involved. Occasional night shift hours as needed.
- May undergo background checks incl drug screen.
Qualifications:
- Must have Master’s in Civil Engineering, Construction Mgmt, Finance, or rel field and 2 yrs of exp in heavy civil construction design projects at large companies.
- Alternatively, must have Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Mgmt, Finance, or rel field and 5 yrs exp in heavy civil construction design projects at large companies.
- Requires skills (2 yrs exp) in: application of proj controls in construction env; manage multiple priorities; problem-solving.
- Also requires fluency in Spanish.
