Cost Accounting Manager - Dexter Axle

What You Will Do:

Contribute to the profitability of the company through the provisions of financial and business management, encompassing the ideas of business planning, control, reporting, and the analysis and interpretation of business results as they relate to the strategic and operating objectives.

Work with Operations to further develop the company's costing system to enhance profitability as well as incorporate newly acquired business into the costing system.  

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversees full-cycle cost accounting.
• Timely financial reporting, financial cost analysis, and interpretation of financial information for Senior Management.
• Partners with management to improve customer profitability.
• Aligns standards to budget by calculating burden and material rates.
• Works with external auditors on account support and information requests.
• Develops costing portion of annual budget, re-forecasts as needed.
• Develops, maintains and monitors internal controls and accounting policies and procedures.
• Creates weekly reports that enhance the accuracy of the costing system.
• Collects and produces information for corporate and/or divisional planning and control.
• Develops make-versus-buy models.
• Manages information systems integrity for financial reporting.
• Maintains and keeps abreast of accounting standards and developments.
• Performs other tasks or duties as assigned.

 Supervisory Responsibilities

•  Manages the day-to-day activities of the Cost Accounting team. 

• Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a comparable discipline
• 5+ years related experience in cost accounting
• Managerial or supervisory experience
• An equivalent combination of education and experience of the above-listed requirements.
