Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation and analysis.
2. Implement cost accounting systems and oversee the cost management process.
3. Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
4. Review rates of depreciation, labor and overhead and suggest policy changes to improve numbers.
5. Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.
6. Assist in the improvement of internal controls related to inventory.
7. Reconcile finished goods inventories.
8. Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.
9. Manage and coordinate monthly inventory adjustments, work-in-process force accounts, and other high-level cost inventory tasks.
10. Assist in Month end close of the General Ledger.
11. Conduct regular ledger maintenance.
12. Consult with management on cost management issues, advising on the financial implications of business decisions and strategies.
Qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
3. Thorough knowledge of General Ledger (GL) systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.
4. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization.
5. Strong understanding of the financial aspects of manufacturing, including understanding the relationship between production processes, costs, and revenues.
6. Proficiency in variance analysis and the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable strategies.
7. Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
9. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with exceptional skills in Excel and related accounting business systems.
10. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in an understandable format.
