Position Summary:This role will be responsible for the cost base of all the products related to BIW. This role will be heavily involved with the Operation’s team ensuring accurate and up to date inventory valuation. The person will require a good analytical skill and understanding of absorption costing techniques and have experience of working in a similar position within a Manufacturing environment. The position will also be heavily involved in the month end close process, massive data, budgeting and forecasting.
Essential Responsibilities:Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Supporting month end closing
- Update and investigate standard costs as required
- Analyze and investigate manufacturing variances
- Monitoring Inventory levels
- Participate in physical inventory counts to ensure the accuracy of inventory records
- Maintain sales and margin and other financial analysis
- Maintain work paper documentation that provides an effective audit trail and evidence of compliance with USGAAP and Sarbanes/Oxley
- Contribute to timely and accurate submission of monthly financial results and monthly reporting as required. Take proactive approach to problem solving, improvements, and lean processes within the organization
- Work with internal and external auditors when required
- Escalate issues of critical importance to management
- Support Company’s Operating Plan, Budget, and Monthly Forecast
- Plans study and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor
- Monitor the accumulation of all direct labor, overhead and other manufacturing-related expenses
- Ensure accurate classification of expenses under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Help develop financial templates and improve efficiency
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5+ years of cost accounting experience in the accountancy field or an equivalent role
- Sufficient SAP or ERP experience is mandatory. OneStream is a plus
- Ability to organize workload and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Team plan and demonstrated respect for culture of ethics and compliance
