Job Summary:
The Entry-Level Cost Accountant will assist in the maintenance and analysis of cost accounting records and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone new to the accounting field looking to grow their skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of cost accounting records, including inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify cost discrepancies and provide actionable insights.
- Help prepare cost reports and statements for management review.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely data collection.
- Assist in the development and implementation of cost control procedures.
- Participate in audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the accounting field.
