Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Bloomfield, CT (On-site).
Duration: 8 Months on W2 Contract
Hours: Monday-Friday; 40 hours; 8 AM - 5 PM (Overtime will be available during the month-end close)

Job Summary

Provide support and training on maintaining standard costs and their ongoing analysis, maintaining accuracy and control on inventory, and providing professional advice and guidance on projects as it relates to costing and inventory. This role will be a key member of the costing team in providing costing support and in other accounting areas.

Key Responsibilities

Leads and provides training on the annual physical inventory exemption application.
Leads and provides training on the annual standard cost rollup in ERP.
Provide support and guidance on meeting various audit and compliance requirements associated with costing and inventory.
Provide support and advice on various projects as it relates to costing and inventory controls.
Provide support on various research related to costing and inventory controls.

Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position

Work with the plant costing team to perform and lead costing projects.

Skills:

ERP Tools and Software – superior knowledge of Oracle and other financial reporting tools
Financial acumen - Interpreting and applying the understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions. In-depth knowledge of various financial guidelines and regulations.
Manages complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
Customer focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
Plans and aligns - Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
Manages conflict - Handling conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noise.

Experience:

Cost Accountant

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification preferred.
