We're on the hunt for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of our financial operations, where you'll be responsible for analyzing and controlling a company's cost of goods, services, and operations. Responsibilities
As a Permanent Cost Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
1. Managing and maintaining the General Ledger and ensuring its accuracy and completeness.
2. Conducting regular forecasting exercises to predict future financial outcomes.
3. Preparing and presenting detailed financial reports to management, highlighting key trends and variances.
4. Overseeing financial accounting operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
5. Managing the Accounts Payable function, ensuring all financial obligations are met in a timely manner.
6. Assisting in the preparation and management of the organization's budget, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
7. Conducting strategic financial planning exercises to guide the organization's financial decision-making.
8. Performing variance analysis to identify and explain deviations from budgeted figures.
9. Working closely with other members of the finance team to ensure all financial operations are running smoothly.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Cost Accountant role will have:
1. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (such as CMA or CPA) would be an added advantage.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the finance industry.
3. Proficiency in using financial software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
4. Strong understanding of General Ledger, Forecasting, Financial Reporting, Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable, Budgeting, Strategic Financial Planning, and Variance Analysis.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
6. Superior communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
7. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
8. A proactive attitude, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and take the initiative to implement changes.
9. High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
