Lucideon M+P Labs Seeks Talented Corrosion Testing Engineer!
Lucideon M+P Labs is searching for a skilled Corrosion Testing Engineer to join our Physical Testing Operations team at our Schenectady, NY location.
Your Role in Action:
As a Corrosion Testing (Process) Engineer at Lucideon M+P Labs, you'll take charge of defining, designing, and validating setups and equipment for stress corrosion cracking (SCC) testing. You will be responsible for ensuring robust designs, maintaining highly reliable equipment and processes, ensuring compliance with quality systems, defining processes, meeting safety requirements, and leading assigned technicians. Additionally, this role ensures compliance with standards for calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform process and manufacturing engineering to support SCC testing.
- Implement precision instrumentation systems for monitoring test conditions.
- Problem solve issues and implement effective solutions.
- Assure safe operations and equipment status.
- Prepare metrics, reports, and presentations as directed.
- Manage resource allocation and team priorities.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration between departments.
- Supervise technicians to ensure efficient operations.
Routine Tasks:
- Ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and other project requirements.
- Define and enhance equipment, testers, fixturing, and processes to ensure high-quality performance and test data while reducing costs and enhancing productivity.
- Coordinate and assign tasks to technicians to maintain schedules and ensure timely project delivery.
- Document all work performed in alignment with M+P standards.
- Maintain comprehensive traceability of all testing aspects, including technical work, test records, and relevant documents.
- Develop designs and documentation to support process and testing requirements.
- Adhere to all elements of the Lucideon M+P Quality Assurance Program, including procedures, calibrations, documentation, and traceability.
- Ensure compliance with prescribed safety and quality regulations.
- Promote safety and good housekeeping practices.
- Manage procurement of services and items for the assigned area.
- Define process requirements to execute orders, including technical specifications, sequencing, special fixtures/tooling, work instructions/sketches, and standard methods.
- Provide recommendations for capital expenditure and best practices.
- Take responsibility for equipment maintenance (reactive/preventive maintenance) definitions.
- Continuously improve processes, equipment, and methods to reduce costs, improve cycle times, increase productivity, and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with Applications Engineering to develop and implement project plans that meet customer requirements.
- Collaborate with Applications Engineering and Operations teams to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or related discipline

Experience:
- Experience in manufacturing, mechanical testing, or industrial laboratory settings
- Practical experience in mechanical testing is advantageous.
- Familiarity with computer-based data acquisition systems
- Experience with CAD, CAM, and programming
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Knowledge/Skills:
- Understanding of various test requirements and drawings
- Knowledge of safety and quality regulations
- Hands-on experience with equipment maintenance
- Ability to interpret technical documents and implement solutions.
