Corrections RN - Duchesne County

POSITION PROFILE

Registered Nurse (RN) under the general guidance and direction of the Medical Contract Services and the jail administration in evaluating the medical needs of inmates and providing comprehensive medical care while observing and maintaining security requirements within the Duchesne County Jail. The RN will provide inmate services in an orderly, respectful, and disciplined manner, consistent with the professionalism expected of all Sheriff's Office employees. RN will respond in emergency situations and perform additional correctional/administrative duties as assigned. Will oversee and direct the Correctional LPN's work under the general guidance and direction of the contracted medical providers and the jail administration.

• Complying with court orders, medical department rules, and the policies and procedures of the Duchesne County Sheriff's Office.
• Assessing, planning, and delivering nursing care to detained and committed individuals
• Record patients' medical histories and symptoms
• To administer CPR instructions and ability to take charge in a CPR emergency.
• To administer medications, including IM injections, upon physician's orders.
• To Notify the supervisor and complete written reports for any medical or security incidents.
