Job Details:
We are currently seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Tax Accountant to join our team. This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to apply your skills in a challenging and rewarding environment. The successful candidate will work closely with our finance team to manage and optimize our tax-related activities. This includes ensuring compliance with state and federal tax laws, preparing tax returns, managing tax provisions, and providing strategic tax planning.
Responsibilities:
As a Corporate Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for:
1. Preparing and reviewing federal and state income tax returns and estimates and coordinating payments to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws.
2. Researching and analyzing changes in tax laws and regulations and advising management on the impact to the company.
3. Assisting in the preparation of tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 and related disclosures.
4. Supporting tax audits by preparing and providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
5. Assisting with tax planning initiatives and strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
6. Preparing and maintaining tax records and managing tax-related documentation.
7. Liaising with public accounting firms to ensure the accuracy and completeness of tax data.
8. Collaborating with cross-functional teams on tax-related matters.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should possess:
1. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or Master’s degree in Taxation is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate tax, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws, tax compliance, tax provisions, and public accounting.
4. Proven experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns.
5. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
7. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
8. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
