SUMMARY: The Corporate Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for PPAP's of component level PPAP's, ensuring the implementation within New Product Development and Operations. Reports directly to the Director of Quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Attends all PDT's & Team meetings as established.
- Gives inputs into the creation of DFMEA when applicable.
- Reviews and approves suppliers Control Plan, PFMEA, and Process Control Plan to ensure effective linkage to the DFMEA.
- Gives unput for the proper identification of critical characteristics.
- Lead/Coach teams/suppliers in the development of system/sub-module/part APQP deliverables.
- Assists in the development of plant documents (Safe Launch inputs, Work Instructions, APQP's, etc.)
- Helps develop visual standard system criteria for use in manufacturing operations.
- Reviews and approves all documentation required for Supplier PSW approvals (i.e PPAP Package).
- Assist with preparation and participation for customer surveys resulting in desired approvals.
- Participate in cross functional teams in the pursuit of problem solving and mistake proofing quality problems.
- Liaison to the plants / Plant Quality Managers with manufacturing handoff of new products.
- Travel as required
- Maintain compliance of IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001.
Follows all safety, housekeeping (5S) and company policies and procedures.
Coordinates and maintains all job responsibilities in a continuous and flexible manner and performs other related duties and job assignments as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years inspection experience in an automotive injection molding environment. Minimum of two years' experience in a Quality Assurance Supervisory role. Knowledge of Quality Systems and standards. Experience in IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, FEMA, QOS and 8D Problem solving. Current training in metrology practices (i.e. caliper, micrometers, etc). Color Acuity, Knowledge of Macbeth Optiview software color system. Proficient with Microsoft office (i.e. Excel, Word and Power point). Direct working knowledge of General blueprint reading and capable of performing Gage R&R.. Familiar with IATF 16949 requirements (Certified Internal Auditor is a plus). People orientated (proactive, team player). Excellent interpersonal and writing skills. Must have experience in Stellantis, GM, Ford, Covisint Customer Portals.
