Job Description:
Drives the curation of and investment in a multi-million-dollar grant portfolio in support of CoBank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy. Builds and develops multi-dimensional signature community partnerships in cooperation with stakeholders and business leaders. Develops and owns primary relationship with grantees, conducts site visits, works directly with grantees through the grant lifecycle including proposal development, application, and impact reporting. Responsible for shepherding and overseeing business-directed charitable giving by acting as an internal consultant. Works with CSR team members to build multi-faceted partnerships with layered assets, such as grants, volunteerism, board service, etc.
Essential Functions:1. Drives the curation of and investment in a multi-million-dollar grant portfolio in support of the CSR strategy. Identifies new potential grant partners, builds relationships and networks among key stakeholders in rural community development, and develops subject matter expertise in funding priority areas.
2. Builds and develops multi-dimensional signature community partnerships in cooperation with business leaders. Identifies opportunities for large grant investments that will deliver significant impact and leverage CoBank’s unique positioning in the market.
3. Develops and owns primary relationship with grantees, conducts site visits, works directly with grantees through the grant lifecycle including proposal development, application, and impact reporting.
4. Responsible for shepherding and overseeing business-directed charitable giving by acting as a consultant and guide to business leaders. Advises commercial sponsorship budget management and ensures disbursement of funds. Develops and maintains communication and transparency on broader CSR strategy internally. Provides philanthropic investment recommendations as needed.
5. Performs data analysis and creates dashboards on grant portfolio as needed for reporting to key stakeholders. Demonstrates impact through quantitative and qualitative measures including outcomes.
6. Identifies and develops compelling content for CSR story bank to be shared through corporate communication channels in support of the bank’s reputation.
7. Works with CSR team members to build multi-faceted partnerships with layered assets, such as grants, volunteerism, board service, etc.
8. Supports the development of the annual Sustainability Report and supporting materials.
9. Identifies opportunities for CoBank to serve as a thought leader.
10. Leverages market trends and stays current on industry best practices to inform strategic decision-making. Conducts benchmarking and research as needed.
11. Collects, synthesizes and summarizes information for inclusion in reports, projects, and content development. Conveys complex subjects into actionable initiatives.
12. Contributes to advancement of company’s overall CSR strategy.
- Bachelor's Degree required
8 years related experience, preferably in corporate social responsibility, ESG, government relations, nonprofit, foundation, grantmaking, or corporate citizenship required
Prior Experience with the development of strategic partnerships and effective working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders across the community, philanthropic, business, and government sectors required
1. Advanced understanding of corporate social responsibility and community investment best practice and trends.
2. Must be an action-oriented doer who can enact positive and impactful change quickly.
3. Proven ability to achieve solutions to meet the company’s CSR objectives, proactive in providing solutions, resolving issues and overcoming hurdles to achieve results.
4. Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to problem solve, test and learn.
5. Excellent project management skills, ability to multi-task and manage many workstreams with different stakeholders
6. Strong communication (written and verbal) organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
7. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with various parties of different subject areas.
8. Proficiency with data analysis and reporting, as well as with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
9. Detail-oriented and organized.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $105,223 - $146,312. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
