The Sr. Accountant reports to our Corporate Controller.

What Does a Sr. Accountant Do?

• Work to streamline processes for better efficiency, documenting policies, procedures, and training documents.
• Prepare journal entries, maintain records, and reconcile accounts in accordance with GAAP.
• Work with store locations to help in recording activity that impacts the general ledger.
• Prepare documentation and support for external auditors and tax specialists.
• Maintain Real Estate and property tax renditions and statements, make monthly accruals, pay taxes when due.
• Calculate and record rebates and inventory related accruals.
• Assist with month end close, acquisition and other accounting tasks as required.
• Assist as needed on ad-hoc projects.
• Additional duties, as assigned.

What Does It Take to Be Successful as a Sr. Accountant?

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance environment, retail accounting experience preferred, multi-location experience a plus
• Knowledge of standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
• Knowledge of US GAAP
• Epicor ERP experience a plus
• Strong analytical skills and ability to take initiative toward problem resolution as well as prepare back up necessary to satisfy management needs and auditory inquiries.
• Proficient Excel skills should include VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
• Well-organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to adhere to schedules and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
• Ability to work with all levels of an organization
• Team player with a “roll-up your sleeves attitude” - comfortable operating in
