Job Title: Corporate Sanitation Manager (Remote)
We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead our corporate sanitation program across our multiple manufacturing facilities. As the Corporate Sanitation Manager, you'll be responsible for executing and monitoring our sanitation program's performance, conducting on-site audits, and providing technical expertise to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sanitation Program Management:
- Establish and monitor annual sanitation performance metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and scorecards.
- Analyze data and implement gap closure initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure facilities have up-to-date Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and validate them regularly.
- Optimize changeover processes to maximize line efficiency while minimizing labor costs.
2. Auditing and Site Visits:
- Conduct comprehensive on-site facility audits at least once a year for each location.
- Provide support and incident management during special circumstances.
- Oversee and manage the equipment fund, ensuring appropriate utilization and reporting.
3. Onboarding and Training:
- Execute an onboarding and training program for sanitation supervisors and sanitation teams.
- Maintain up-to-date training matrices and prepare teams for successful audits through mock audits.
4. Technical Guidance:
- Provide technical support on the effectiveness of plant sanitation and cleaning programs.
- Guide facilities during specialized sanitation challenges, such as allergen cleans, microbiological controls, and environmental controls.
- Assist in plant start-up activities involving new sanitation-impacted equipment or lines, including documentation review and verification.
- Ensure annual verification and validation of automated cleaning systems.
5. System Implementation and Optimization:
- Identify and implement tools and systems (e.g., Poka, Redzone, VRS) to optimize sanitation management.
- Provide training and support for system utilization at the plant level.
- Validate training and maintain training matrices.
6. Operating Model and Leadership:
- Develop and maintain an operating model with Sanitation Supervisors, plant QA managers, and Regional QA Managers.
- Lead monthly Sanitation Supervisor meetings and participate in Sanitation University at least once per year.
- Train and onboard new Sanitation Supervisors, playing a key role in their development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Food Science, Engineering, or related discipline).
- 5+ years of experience in the food industry, with a focus on the sanitation function.
- HACCP and PCQI certification required.
- Extensive experience with diverse sanitizing applications (wet clean, dry clean, CIP systems, automation).
- Proven ability to address environmental sanitation challenges in various areas (drains, floors, walls, roofs, equipment).
- Experience managing compliance at multiple, remote locations and leading through influence.
- Strong understanding of food and environmental regulations, and their impact on operations and customers.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
This is a remote position that requires frequent travel, approximately 60% of the time, to visit our manufacturing facilities.
