Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive safety program, policies, and procedures in line with industry best practices and legal requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with department heads and managers to assess safety needs and provide guidance on safety-related matters.
- Coordinate safety training programs, ensuring all employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a safe workplace.
- Monitor incident reports and investigations, analyzing trends, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new regulations, and advancements in safety technology to continuously enhance the company's safety standards.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and serve as an expert resource on safety matters during inspections and audits.
- Provide timely and accurate safety reports to management, identifying key performance indicators and areas of concern.
- Foster a safety-first culture by promoting awareness, accountability, and ownership at all levels of the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; A master's degree is a plus
- Proven experience of 10 years as a safety manager or director in a corporate environment
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices (OSHA, ANSI, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful safety programs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively train and educate employees at all levels
- Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and influence change within a diverse workforce
- Certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) is desirable
