Corporate Paralegal
Contract (1099) with possibility to convert to full-time employee

Overview
ID.me is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team and play a critical role in delivering high-quality legal support across various corporate matters, with a primary focus on assisting our member support team. In this role, you will directly contribute to the success of our operations, driving positive outcomes through meticulous document preparation, database maintenance, and legal and regulatory research.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Member Operations team to review escalated matters relating to individual and entity validation and verification.
- Train and supervise Member Support employees on business entity/corporate filing look up on secretary of state websites
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining corporate filings.
- Escalate major issues or changes to the legal team for review.
- Provide support related to disputes, litigation, and member support while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Assist in maintaining a system for tracking contracts and related documentation.
- Quickly handling special projects as assigned, e.g. conducting research into state and federal laws or cases, assisting with state foreign corporation registrations, data breach reports.
- Manage deadlines and relevant calendars.
- Support the team with general corporate work, which may include organizing and maintaining legal folders.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with at least 5 years of experience as a Corporate Paralegal. Will consider law-firm experience if highly knowledgeable in corporate filings, such as annual reports and formation documents.
- Experience using secretary of state websites to pull company filings (annual reports, formation documents, etc.) for multiple entity types.
- High proficiency in document editing and Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe.
- Background in banking and knowledge of KYC validation preferred.
- Ability to independently prioritize and make necessary changes to documents without assistance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with other team members and departments.
- Knowledge of SalesForce is a plus.
- Paralegal certification preferred.
- Virginia notary a plus.
