About the Job
FUNCTION: Reporting to the Director, Internal Construction Management the Corporate In-House Construction Manager is responsible for the management of selected in-house construction projects within the organization. Oversees facility design and construction to ensure organizational needs are met. As owner’s representative, interacts with the contractor or construction team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specifications.
KEY ACTIVITIES:
Visualize and implement Clyde Companies, Inc. vision and core values
Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion, coordinating efforts of key contributors including architects, engineers, contractors, etc.
Coordinate with, and regularly update, enterprise or subsidiary company leadership on needed decisions, project status, risks, etc.
Formulate detailed construction schedules
Review the project parameters to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
Monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
Coordinate and direct certain scopes performed by in-house construction workers and/or subcontractors
Review work progress on daily basis
Prepare reports and communications pertaining to job status
Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses
Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and designated modes of operation
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods of construction
Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards applicable to site construction and vertical buildings
Familiarity with construction management and design software
Able to effectively resolve conflicts and manage critical on-site events
Ability to maintain big-picture perspective, while ensuring the small details are completed
Excellent time, performance, and project management skills
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
BS in Construction Management (or equivalent experience in a related field)
5-plus years of proven work experience in construction management
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary work, lifting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally
Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment
Able to physically negotiate various site environments
Frequent automotive travel to job sites, meetings and other work locations
