Schedule & Travel requirements: This role requires frequent travel across Maryland (MD), Pennsylvania (PA), Virginia (VA), and Florida (FL): 4 days of travel each week to our communities within these regions, with one day designated for administrative tasks and work-from-home flexibility.

Corporate Director of Resident Programming - Position Summary:
The Corporate Director of Resident Programming is responsible for working closely with the Communities' Life Enrichment and Memory Care Directors in maintaining standards, policies & procedures related to engagement and programming at each Morningside Elite Community. The Corporate Director of Resident Programming will also support our Positive Approach to Care adopted program by Teepa Snow. Responsibilities include conducting strategic site visits with a focus on performance excellence, identifying opportunities for improvement and executing action plans to drive the resident experience. This postion reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Corporate Director of Resident Programming - Essential Responsibilities:
- Possesses a full understanding and robust knowledge of activities and programming operations, implementation of programs to drive engagement and wellness outcomes in seniors.
- Responsible for ongoing evaluation of programming with the goal of meeting emotional, social, cultural and spiritual needs of residents at different levels of functioning.
- Conducts regular training for communities to support resident engagement and activity initiatives in one-to-one, small group, and large group formats.
- Helps with creative ideas to increase participation and the tracking of participation through the LifeLoop system.
- Hosts quarterly meetings in support of resident programming and activities.
- Proactively builds positive relationships with team members, residents and family members while on-site.
- Proactively and constructively manages difficult situations, engaging peers and subject matter experts as appropriate.
- Delegates assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their skills, roles, and interests.
- Audits activity calendars and family engagement tools for appropriate use per standards and coaches team members on any deficiencies found.
- Guides community and regional teams on the creation and support of a successful volunteer program.
- Supports collaboration between Dining and Activities department.
- Supports collaboration between Memory Care and Activities department.
- Supports collaboration between in house partner providers to enhance programming and engagement efforts.
- Lead team player in creating an energetic and enthusiastic environment for which our residents and employees THRIVE.
- Guides training process of new Life Enrichment and Memory Care Directors.
- Strengthens local community involvement through community service efforts involving the residents.
Corporate Director of Resident Programming - Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:
The requirements listed throughout this job description are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
- College degree and/or certifications with specialized credentials in activities programming required.
- Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) certification is required.
- Minimum of seven (3) years management experience in activities programming, preferably in a multi-site operation.
- Ability to effectively hire, coach and manage performance.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to delegate assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their skills, roles, and interests.
- Strong written and verbal skills for effective communication and the ability to facilitate group presentations of various sizes and audience types.
- Competent in organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), with the ability to learn new applications.
