About the Role
As a Corporate Cost Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing and analyzing cost structures to ensure accurate financial reporting and strategic cost management across multiple companies. This includes maintaining cost accounting systems, performing detailed financial analysis, and collaborating across teams to enhance efficiency. Your expertise will support decision-making processes and drive financial performance improvement.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain cost accounting systems across multiple companies, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Align costing systems and policies across diverse product lines and international partners.
- Oversee compliance with international transfer pricing policies and tolling agreements.
- Conduct annual cost rolls, inventory revaluation, and cost variance analysis.
- Provide detailed cost analysis and profitability insights to support strategic decisions.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost efficiency.
- Recommend and implement process improvements for greater accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction strategies.
- Conduct regular cost audits and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
- Collaborate with other departments for financial projections and cost estimates.
Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP costing methodologies and financial analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of integrated ERP systems.
- Experience with foreign currency transactions.
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Experience with international tolling agreements and IFRS.
- Familiarity with government contracts and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.
- Strong understanding of intercompany transactions and transfer pricing policies.
