Montway seeks a proactive and dynamic professional who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate will possess a BA or BS in Accounting and a CPA and have at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
General:
- Ensure the accuracy and compliance of accounting and financial data with GAAP standards.
- Prepare and present financial and operational results to the CFO on a monthly basis.
- Oversee the monthly and year-end reconciliation processes, including claim liabilities, insurance, and taxes.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage the company's Treasury functions, including oversight of lines of credit, bank balances, loan payments, covenant requirements, and bank audits.
- Coordinate risk management and insurance programs.
- Lead the process for annual financial statement reviews and audits.
- Conduct research on advanced accounting issues, propose solutions, and present findings to management.
- Prepare monthly Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) and other management reports.
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Participate in M&A due diligence and lead the integration of financial systems and processes.
Supervision:
- Lead the accounting team , ensuring successful project completion through effective planning, prioritization, and progress monitoring. Identify opportunities for improving the organization’s financial position and the efficiency and quality of accounting data.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for all team members.
- Oversee the accounting department to ensure robust internal controls and proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and deliver comprehensive business solutions.
- Foster internal communication and promote a positive, supportive work environment across all levels of the organization.
Daily:
- Oversee all financial transactions, with a focus on cash flow planning and ensuring the availability of funds as required.
- Provide necessary financial data for tax returns and quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Support operations teams in reducing costs and improving efficiency.
- Oversee the payroll systems operations.
- Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable and manage follow-up on aged items.
- Ensure timely payment of debt obligations and shareholder distributions.
- Maintain all charts of accounts, accounting files, and systems of accounting controls effectively.
Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA highly desirable.
- 5-10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, preferably in the logistics industry.
- Advanced computer skills, with expert proficiency in Excel; experience with Intacct, Paylocity, and Salesforce is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, sound judgment, and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- High level of integrity, dependability, and a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
