Job Details
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Controller to join our team. As the Corporate Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our company's financial management and reporting. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, as well as providing strategic guidance to senior management. If you have a strong background in PE backed rollup consolidation accounting, financial analysis, and leadership, we encourage you to apply. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Oversee company-wide financial operations, maintain accurate financial records, implement financial controls, and provide strategic guidance to support financial objectives as the company continues its plans for high growth.
Lead the consolidation process for the parent company and its subsidiaries, ensuring accurate and timely consolidation of financial results in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant accounting standards.
Coordinate with subsidiary finance teams to collect financial data, eliminate intercompany transactions, and reconcile intercompany balances.
Prepare consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, along with supporting schedules and disclosures.
As the company acquires new business, book the acquisition accounting related transactions.
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including executive management, investors, and lenders.
Analyze consolidated financial results and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
Develop and maintain financial models to forecast consolidated financial performance and assess the impact of strategic initiatives on overall financial results.
Establish and maintain effective internal control processes to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with audit standards and requirements.
Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations related to consolidation accounting and implement necessary changes to accounting policies and procedures.
Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals responsible for consolidation accounting, financial reporting, and analysis.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance organization.
Provide guidance and support to subsidiary finance teams to ensure compliance with consolidation accounting principles and corporate financial policies.
Partner closely with leaders across the organization to understand their needs and make certain controls are understood, followed, and monitored.
Develop processes within the finance and accounting function that will enhance productivity, correctness, and timeliness of financial statements.
Review transaction coding and financial statements for accuracy, legal compliance and alignment to budgeted expense coding.
Ensure completion of federal, state, and local tax requirements, including income, property, sales and use, payroll and other local taxes. Oversee activities with tax experts in the development of appropriate tax strategies and preparation of relevant tax return filings.
Participate in the preparation pf budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation with Public Accounting strongly preferred.
Significant experience (10+ years) in accounting and financial management, with a strong background in consolidation accounting and financial reporting.
Experience working in a private equity-backed environment, preferably with exposure to managing multiple subsidiaries.
Deep understanding of consolidation accounting principles, including elimination of intercompany transactions and, acquisition accounting.
Proven track record of implementing and maintaining effective internal controls and driving process improvements.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with executive management, investors, and external stakeholders.
Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Experience in NetSuite is strongly preferred.
Proven ability to build relationships and navigate cross-functionally.
Exceptional attention to detail with solid understanding of systems and technology.
High level of proficiency with Excel.
Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.
Strong history of financial management in the construction industry.
Comfortable working in a changing and very dynamic start-up like environment.
