The Corporate Controller will be a key leader within the finance team, overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance functions for our manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, optimizing accounting processes, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting, leadership experience, and a strategic mindset to support the company's growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cost accounting, and fixed asset management.
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
Develop and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring financial processes comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
Prepare consolidated financial statements and detailed reports for senior management, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.
Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, providing variance analysis and actionable insights to leadership.
Oversee cost accounting processes, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis.
Lead and coordinate external audits, tax filings, and compliance activities.
Implement process improvements and financial systems upgrades to increase efficiency and scalability.
Support strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and data-driven recommendations.
Hire, develop, and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, tax consultants, and other financial partners.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation required.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, inventory management, and internal controls.
Experience managing external audits and implementing process improvements.
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills; experience with [specific ERP system, e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite] preferred.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting.
Experience leading system implementations or ERP upgrades.
Prior experience working with private equity-owned or high-growth manufacturing organizations.
