About the Job
Overview:
Our client, a dynamic company in the defense and space manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to join their team on a contract basis. This role is designed to provide financial leadership. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual with a solid background in corporate accounting and government contracting.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Manage daily accounting operations, including reviewing bank reconciliations and monitoring cash flow.
- Month-End Close: Ensure timely completion of month-end close processes and accurate financial reporting to the CFO.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain familiarity with government contract regulations (FAR and DFARS) and ensure compliance.
- Team Interaction: Lead daily meetings and collaborate with the accounting team to address ongoing tasks and issues.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and reporting.
- System Usage: Utilize Deltek Costpoint for accounting tasks and SAP Concur for expense reporting.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a Corporate Controller or similar role.
- Experience with government contracting, particularly FAR and DFARS regulations.
- Background in the tech, construction, aerospace, or defense industries preferred.
- Department of Defense (DoD) experience is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint and SAP Concur is advantageous.
- Hiring Timeline: Immediate start preferred.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
