Mission. Commitment. Leadership. The next Corporate Controller for HCSC will excel in all of these areas as they join our award-winning nonprofit organization, headquartered in the Lehigh Valley, PA. This position is based at our corporate offices in Allentown, PA.
The Corporate Controller, reporting directly to the CFO, will be responsible for the summarization, analysis and forecasting of company activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present, and expected operation; review and verified accounting documents; oversight of company-wide payroll and manage department staff.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years experience in accounting/finance, including Acumatica, Sage Fixed Assets, Netlease/Finance Systems.
Responsibilities
Prepares month-end journal entries and financial statements for the company including allocation of all intercompany charges
Provides senior management with financial information and analysis. Answer all questions as they arrive
Works closely with and prepares information for external auditors, pension auditors, workers compensation auditors and various other auditors as they arise
Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives and accounting policies and procedures. Responsible for company-wide annual budgets, P&L and forecasting
Oversight of all company payrolls. Responsible for the transfer of all payroll files to all benefit and retirement providers. Resolves issues that may arise
Oversees banking transactions for operating & payroll accounts; reviews bank reconciliations completed by accounting staff
Supervises department staff. Assists staff with problem solving and conflict resolution as needed. Takes appropriate disciplinary action for infractions of policy. May counsel, suspend and recommend termination according to established policy. Interviews applicants and recommends for hire
Requirements and Skills
7 years of proven experience in the Accounting / Finance field
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required; Master's preferred
Ability to plan and manage multiple priorities
Ability to plan, schedule and direct work of self and others
Must be able to manage diverse teams
Must maintain confidentiality
Follow GAAP
Able to handle difficult situations and people tactfully and professionally
Fluent with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Spreadsheet analysis skills
