We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Corporate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of transactions, negotiating and drafting complex contracts, and providing legal advice to our corporate team. This position requires a deep understanding of property and casualty insurance, along with a strong commitment to ethics, integrity, and professionalism. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law, with an emphasis on insurance matters.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive legal counsel on all property and casualty insurance matters, including policy development, claims, and regulatory compliance.
2. Draft, review, and negotiate complex insurance contracts and agreements, ensuring they comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
3. Advise on corporate governance matters, including board resolutions, shareholder agreements, and corporate secretarial duties.
4. Collaborate with other departments to identify potential legal issues and develop effective solutions.
5. Represent the company in legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations.
6. Stay abreast of developments in corporate law and the insurance industry to ensure the company's ongoing compliance.
7. Develop and deliver training to the company on legal matters related to property and casualty insurance.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience as an attorney, specifically within the property and casualty insurance sector.
3. Admission to the state bar.
4. Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing legal documents and contracts.
5. In-depth understanding of corporate law and insurance regulations.
6. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in clear, understandable language.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound legal judgments.
8. High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.
9. Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
10. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
