JOB SUMMARY:
The AP/Tax Specialist will report to Confluent's CFO and will partner with the CFO in leading all of Confluent's Accounts Payable and local tax payment processes. The AP Specialist will be responsible for managing cash balances and ensuring all tax payments are made in a timely manner. This person will work closely with Confluent's Controller and payment partners to deliver accurate and timely payments through Confluent's businesses as well as driving process improvements to improve efficiency.
Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the Accounts Payable and local tax payment processes for the company by maintaining and improving effective processes and internal controls.
- Lead the payables process, approve and pay bills, ensure early pay discounts are realized, ensure resolution of duplicate bills or other errors, support the local finance team on questions about bill accounting and related AP or AR questions.
- Coordinate the month-end and year-end close processes to help the AP function support and accelerate month-end close process.
- Manage the corporate credit card program, ensure company policies are being followed, monitor coding and reconciling, and provide input on process enhancements to drive efficiency
- Assist in integrating acquired companies into existing accounts payable processes and track cash movement to ensure controls are maintained.
- Work with local finance contacts to coordinate inter-company accounts payable balances to provide accurate and timely reporting.
Qualifications:
- University Graduate with a Business Administration degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in payables or similar roles, with a strong understanding of payment processing requirements.
- Demonstrated experience processing payments in a multi-entity environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on driving innovation and process improvement.
- Demonstrated experience optimizing cash flow and coordinating payables processes.
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Quickbooks, NetSuite, bill.com, or similar systems is preferred.
