Corporate Accounting Manager - Boston, MA - Hedge Fund

A leading credit focused Hedge Fund based in Boston is looking to hire a Corporate Accounting Manager to join their growing team. The Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s financial operations and ensuring timely and accurate reporting. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to gain experience in providing executive management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts and preparing financial statements. This individual will report directly to the VP of Finance.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general ledger.

• Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the company’s accounting system.

• Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

• Adhere to accounting policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

• Manage and supervise a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and coaching as needed.

• Collaborate with other departments to analyze and report on financial performance.

• Identify and implement financial statement close and reporting process improvements.

• Prepare ad-hoc materials as requested by the Director of Finance.

Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of experience

• Public accounting background or experience working in the financial services industry

• CPA preferred

• Experience with or working knowledge of accounting systems

• An entrepreneurial spirit who takes the initiative and works well independently

• Ability to take ownership and responsibility of work product and meet deadlines

• Ability to recognize issues and solve problems

• Strong communication skills

• Proficient knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
