The Corporate Accounting Manager will report directly to the Executive Director – External Reporting and is responsible for overseeing certain areas of the Corporate Accounting function, as well as supporting on-time month-end close, completing or reviewing certain account reconciliations and contributing to monthly balance sheet analytical procedures.
+ Responsibilities
+ Manage the capitalized software accounting process, including:
+ Understanding of the Company’s activities
+ Maintaining records of the capitalized costs
+ Tracking amortization expense
+ Ensuring compliance with accounting standards
+ Performing regular reviews and assessments of useful lives for potential impairment
+ Preparation and/or review of required journal entries
+ Preparation and/or review of related account reconciliations
+ Manage the monthly process for certain accruals, including legal and others, booking related monthly journal entries and understanding the Company’s activities and expected future payments.
+ Supervise the PPE accounting process by:
+ Understanding the Company’s quarterly activities, such as additions, disposals, write-offs, impairments, etc.
+ Performing quarterly analytical procedures to verify balance fluctuations quarter-over-quarter
+ Tracking depreciation expense
+ Performing regular reviews and assessments of useful lives for potential impairment
+ Oversee the monthly and quarterly reviews of intangible assets, including ensuring accuracy of accounting records, verifying monthly amortization expense, and regularly assessing useful lives for potential impairment.
+ Review the Company’s goodwill balance on a quarterly basis, ensuring accuracy of accounting records and verifying any disposals, acquisitions and impairments are accounted for appropriately.
+ Perform and walkthrough SOX controls relevant to the areas noted above, ensuring processes and controls are designed and operating effectively to address the risks of financial reporting.
+ Initiate and lead ad hoc projects and process improvements with minimal supervision.
+ Research and review transactions in the general ledger to validate compliance with US GAAP and the Company’s policies.
+ Liaise with our external auditors, working closely to coordinate the Company’s quarterly reviews and annual audits.
+ Foster and build teamwork between the finance, accounting and operating functions.
Qualifications
+ Degree – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Masters a plus.
+ Professional qualifications – Active CPA license required
+ Work experience – 5+ years of experience, in related corporate accounting and/or Big 4 audit experience, including serving SEC clients
+ Technical skills –
+ Knowledge of US GAAP accounting and reporting;
+ A nalytical skills with a great attention to detail;
+ Accounting research skills;
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel;
+ Experience with Essbase/SmartView reporting tools or Oracle Cloud a plus.
+ Communication skills – Very strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively interact with senior management on a regular basis.
