Position Overview::The Corporate Accountant is a key member of the Corporate Finance Team and is responsible for the timely and accurate accounting, analysis, and reporting of the Corporate accounts and disclosures as needed for reporting to management, the Board of Directors, and banks. The accounting includes but is not limited to debt, cash/treasury, investments, leases, stock-based compensation, intercompany financing, and purchase accounting.
What you will do::- Prepare and analyze financial statements to include balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for management reporting and assistance with external audited financial statements, including disclosures.
- Maintain and reconcile corporate general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Partner with Finance and other departments to assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making.
- Support the Tax department in the preparation of income tax returns and accounting.
- Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Work cross functionally with departments across the Argon enterprise.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is preferred.
- 3+ years previous experience in accounting, preferably within the life sciences or a related industry.
- Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, QAD & Onestream (preferred).
- Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
