This is a hybrid role where you will work both onsite (2-3 days a week) and remotely the other weekdays
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP and financial controls in accordance with SOX. This position assists with optimizing existing processes and integrating additional processes in the Corporate Accounting function, including the integration of certain processes from acquired companies. These responsibilities require strong alignment and communication with the divisional accounting teams and other departments.
- Perform general ledger accounting duties (e.g., journal entries and account reconciliations) and financial analysis in an accurate and efficient manner
- Reconcile cash transactions for multiple Corporate bank accounts
- Monitor prepaid transactions and record expense amortizations per contractual terms
- Reconcile and distribute company travel expenses
- Assist with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance within the Corporate Accounting group by ensuring processes and controls are adequately performed, documented, and maintained
- Assist with quarterly and annual audit requirements of internal and external audits
- Interact with all levels of employees, from clerical to senior management, and establish productive relationships with our internal customers
- Resolve issues appropriately and communicate in a timely, clear, and concise manner
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset
- Strong understanding and application of U.S. GAAP fundamentals
- 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably for a publicly traded company (SEC registrant)
- Bachelors in Accounting degree required, CPA preferred
- Experience in public accounting preferred
- Ability to operate in various software systems, including sophisticated ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, OneStream, and/or SAP)
