Job Details
I am seeking a versatile individual to join our Corporate Accounting and Finance team, reporting directly to the Corporate Controller. This role is ideal for someone early in their career, eager to learn about the Real Estate industry, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Your title will be based on your experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly construction loan draw packages with the Corporate Controller and Construction team for projects exceeding $100M, ensuring budget compliance.
Collaborate with Asset Management and the SVP of Finance to create cash flow models, translating GAAP reports to cash-basis analysis.
Develop Proforma P&L reports for the Management Company and present Dashboard reports to top executives.
Create divisional overhead reports for VPs, ensuring budget compliance and addressing variances.
Support Capital Allocation planning and liquidity analysis for the Family Office.
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual Financial Statements.
Manage revenue transactions during the monthly close process, ensuring compliance with Management Agreements.
Contribute to the annual Corporate Budget preparation and presentation.
Implement and maintain internal controls for Accounting Information Systems, Cybersecurity, and I.T. Procurement.
Assist in accounts receivable management and collections.
Support entity structuring, compliance, insurance, and treasury-related tasks on an ad-hoc basis.
Assist in executing the annual Tax Program compliance for the portfolio.
Gain experience with ad-hoc Hospitality projects, including Restaurant Accounting functions.
Perform additional duties and complete ad-hoc projects as required.
Receive on-the-job training through one-on-one task-specific instruction.
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting or Finance (4-Year)
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and debits & credits
1-4 years of experience in accounting, audit, tax, or FP&A
Preferable working knowledge of project accounting
Partnership taxation experience is a plus
Prior experience with Yardi, QuickBooks, and MRI is preferred
Proficient in MS Excel, with the ability to create Excel-based reports or models
Experience reviewing peers' work and packaging deliverables for stakeholders
Effective communication skills with superiors, peers, vendors, clients, and related parties
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
Quick learner with a willingness to adapt to new systems and grow with the company
High degree of personal integrity and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining confidentiality
Strong positive attitude, demonstrating professionalism and flexibility to achieve company goals
