About the Job
- Meets individually and in person with consumers to determine needs, establish goals and secure services through independent living CIL skills training, advocacy, information and referral services.*
- Coordinates outreach to community service agencies to achieve consumers' goals and meet service needs.*
- Develops curriculum and conducts Independent Living (IL) classes for consumers.*
- Works with adults and transition-aged students in community locations, schools or transition programs
- Responds, in a timely manner, to consumers' inquiries, needs and issues.*
- Completes entry, in a timely manner, of consumer documentation into Apricot Database
- Develop, schedule and conduct group information sessions with subminimum wage earners and their guardians within the Twin Cities metro 7-county service area*
- Conduct individual informed choice discussions with interested subminimum wage earners within the Twin Cities 7-county metro area*
- Use different technology and other tools to help all individuals understand their choices regarding integrate and competitive employment, and to make an informed choice. This includes work with adult learners with a variety of disabilities including intellectual, developmental, cognitive, and learning disabilities, and people who use different communication styles.
