Leads the day-to-day activities of the core infrastructure engineers, strategic planning, project execution, and resource allocation. Facilitates timely resolution of all virtualization and core-infrastructure-related incidents, problems, and requests.

The Core Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for:
- Leading and mentoring the core infrastructure team, providing technical guidance, fostering collaboration, career development, and conducting performance reviews.
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of core infrastructure and virtualization components, including managing VMware Infrastructure, Citrix platform, Active Directory, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), storage systems, and backup environments.
- Leading the team in designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing the virtual and core infrastructure environment. Ensuring efficient resource allocation and responding to and resolving issues appropriately in a timely manner to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
- Resolving more complex problems escalated by staff and functioning as a liaison to other Hospital groups for ITS staff, when needed.
- Evaluating new technology trends, recommending, and implementing optimization, modernization, and process improvements to the ever-changing technological environment, making it more efficient and maximizing performance and availability.
- Implementing and maintaining security and compliance measures to protect critical systems from cyber threats while ensuring compliance with Hospital regulations.
- Establishing and managing vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, service level agreements, and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Providing status reports and feedback to management, and interacting closely with other Hospital departments to better serve the end user community.
To qualify, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science Programming is required
- 8 years of work experience in IT is required
- Deep understanding of core IT Infrastructure technologies including VMware infrastructure, Citrix platform, VDI, Dell EMC storage and other enterprise storage systems, enterprise backup technologies, Active Directory and Entra ID.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Candidates are required to be two days a week in Boston,candidates from New England area is preferred
