Copy Center Operator
Hours Monday-Friday: 10:00 am - 7:00 pm (w/ 1 hour lunch)
3 month temp assignment
Seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Copy Center Operator who is a fast learner to work in a prestigious law firm. This position is responsible for producing high volumes of work including printing, binder assembly, scanning, and other Copy Center related work products. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize work to meet tight deadlines, and provide excellent customer service. The role requires strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Job Summary: The Copy Center Operator uses a combination of various software, high-speed Canon devices and manual labor to support over 600 combined attorneys, paralegals, and support staff in the New York office alone. Due to the extended hours, high volumes of visiting attorneys, and the key players who work out of the New York office, the Copy Center is also a hub for many requests coming from the Firm’s other 20+ offices around the world.
Responsibilities:
• Perform high-volume/batch printing of documents for various projects.
• Create custom tabs and folders in batches for document organization.
• Assemble printed materials into binders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Manually bind documents by punching and inserting binding materials.
• Create and format labels using Microsoft Word for documents and binders.
• Navigate through network drives and copy files across folders.
• Scan documents to email and network folders using eCopy ShareScan and CaptureOnTouch.
• Cut custom-sized name tags, tent cards, invitations, and other specialized materials for events.
• Ability to effectively self-assign and complete requests based on priority and deadlines.
• Efficiently organize workload to meet multiple client deadlines and maintain a high level of quality control.
• Assist with delivery of completed requests.
• Track and log all requests and deliveries in the corresponding logs.
• Capture charges in Equitrac and our Excel-based billing log for services rendered.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment in the Copy Center and throughout the office.
• Assist with supply and paper inventory management as part of a team.
Job Skills & Qualifications:
• Fast learner and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in printing and binder assembly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet tight deadlines.
• Reliable, able to work independently and be self-motivated while adhering to deadlines.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to effectively correspond with attorneys, paralegals, and other team members.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (e.g., boxes of paper) and stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work overtime when needed, including weekends, based on departmental needs.
Education & Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Strong operator and computer skills, including experience in digital printing using Adobe Acrobat
• Experience in a busy law firm requiring multi-tasking and a high degree of accuracy
• Prior experience in a customer service environment
