Copy Editor - Veracity Insurance
Pleasant Grove, UT 84062
About the Job
Copy Editor [Remote or In-Office]
Content is king... as our Editor you’re a "kingmaker" — practically royalty yourself! The Commander of Content Strategy. The Baron of Brief-Building. The Pontiff of Proofreading. The Regina of RX and Relatability. The Tycoon of Training. The Pasha of Publishing... And you do it all as the Potentate of Personality! Have we taken the royal thing too far? Absolutely. Are we gonna stop? Not. A. Chance.
But forget bougie. You’re a royal who produces copy for real humans, a person of the people. Your title might read “Editor” but you’re much more — a copy-guru-content-marketer who knows what it takes to mold great copy and move audiences to action. You’re curious, organized, proactive, strategic, creative — a great communicator who loves variety in your work.
About Veracity
Penicillin changed medicine. The Beatles changed music. And Veracity Insurance Solutions is changing insurance (hey, we can’t all be doctors and musicians). What GEICO did for home and auto insurance, well, we’re doing that for the world of business insurance. We make small business insurance simple, affordable, and buyable online without talking to an agent. We’re growing FAST, and we want you to be a part of it.
A Day in the Life of an Editor at Veracity
You’ll convene, collaborate, calendar, conceptualize, strategize, and (oh yes) edit copy! You’ll manage (the BEST team of) Copywriters: coach, mentor, train, score content, and more. You’ll know which KPIs matter, graciously receive and give good feedback, have a heart for supporting high-producers, and help develop training and resources to take our copy (and Copywriters) to the next level.
Reporting to the Director of Content, you’ll work closely with Copywriters, Product Marketing Managers, Designers, SEOs, Paid Media, Video, Social, and Email Marketers, Compliance, Partnerships, and others to ensure we produce helpful, human, search-friendly content that moves people to act. You may be drafted to help out in other areas, too. “Drafted.” Get it?!
What You Need to Succeed
Forget B2B or B2C… we see marketing as H2H: human-to-human. So first: Be human. Second: Make sure our copy sounds like a human wrote it. None of the stuffy, boring-@$$ jargon-filled “marketing speak” you hear every day and (heck no) nothing an AI could’ve regurgitated. Just real-world, relatable, reliable, revelatory stuff. Copy that punches the audience in the face with value and moves them to action. Critical thinking, creativity, attention to detail, and collaboration with others are must-have skills here.
Ideally, you’ll be a detail-oriented, creative, critical thinker with a bit o’ management experience, B2B marketing know-how and the ability to develop people, strategize content, and manage content production.
What We Offer
We offer 160 hours of PTO and two floating holidays. Our “numbers guy” says that’s 4 weeks which is pretty great. We offer generous salaries, a bonus structure, a great 401k (company match FTW!), 100% free mental health and therapy tools, health/dental/vision plans, and more. Expected salary range: $70-100k.
But nothing compares to being part of explosive growth and working with some truly remarkable humans. See what they say about working at Veracity: https://youtu.be/DT5n7oU0Hi0
