The UC Irvine Student Health Center is a comprehensive outpatient clinic staffed with licensed primary care physicians, psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers, dentists, physician assistants, registered nurse practitioners, and registered nurses. Medical specialists from various disciplines including dermatology, orthopedics/sports medicine, gynecology, internal medicine, and ENT provide on-site consultation on a regular basis. Student Health also offers basic radiology and clinical laboratory services, insurance consultation, and an on-site pharmacy, making SHC a comprehensive and convenient clinic dedicated to serving students.
Under the general direction of the Executive Director for Student Health, incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the SHC Quality Management and Improvement (QMI) Program through the development and coordination of detailed projects, analyses, and event case reviews in support of review by various regulatory and accreditation agencies. This includes collecting data through a variety of mechanisms, including medical chart review, query of various databases or information systems, or using ad hoc data collection tools as needed. Incumbent collaborates with members of Senior Management regarding implementation of processes and standards across the continuum to ensure quality assurance and improvement in quality of care and clinical outcomes. Position is responsible for administering the peer review program at SHC.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $69,500.00- $96,500.00 (Annual).
Required:
- Working knowledge of QI standards, clinical chart review and abstraction, and regulatory requirements.
- Working knowledge of QI models, tools, and techniques, including collection, aggregation, abstraction, analysis, and reporting of data.
- Detail oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to complete projects and tasks on a timely basis.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills to assess problems quickly and develop multiple options for effective and timely resolution.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with a range of clinical and technical staff and representatives of external regulatory agencies
- Demonstrated ability to effectively convey complex clinical and technical information both verbally and in writing, and to produce reports, presentations and documentation.
- Working knowledge of various administrative and business software packages, and of the specialized applications for quality data management..
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to speak in public and make presentations.
- Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with general direction.
- Ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations tactfully and responsibly.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in operational transactions and communications.
- Experience working in ambulatory, acute care, or insurance setting in a QI, QMI, or QA capacity.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or other healthcare profession, or a combination of comparable clinical education and / or experience.
- Current RN License.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience As RN with demonstrated clinical management experience.
Preferred:
- Experience managing provider peer review processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of retrospective and prospective chart reviews and protocols.
- Experience working in a matrix reporting environment.
Special Conditions:
- This position’s schedule is M-F and during traditional work hours, however, weekend or non-traditional work hours may be required for special projects or busy times of the year, or when strict deadlines must be met. In the case of extended hours, this position may be required to work those hours.
- Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of a Department of Justice (DOJ) Live Scan background check, verification and continued monitoring or licensure as it applies to the position, and successful completion of our background review or credentialing process, as appropriate to the position.
- The employee must comply with OSHA, CA/OSHA, and CDC recommendations and requirements regarding vaccination and testing of healthcare employees. This includes, but may not be limited to; current hepatitis B immunizations, annual flu vaccinations, and annual tuberculosis screening. The employee must comply with CDPH and UC COVID-19 Vaccine Policy, by providing proof of Full Vaccination or submitting a request for Exception.
- Per the UC Ethics Briefing, the employee is responsible for reporting any and all potential conflicts of interest to their supervisor in a timely manner.
